Stress in the word that comes to mind when I think of my morning!!
I was experiencing difficulties opening all programs on my computer last night. I arrived at Acadia early this morning and visited Tech Support, to find out that my hard drive had crashed. Needless to say, I went to my Assistive Technology class feeling disheartened and very stressed. Fortunatley, I was able to borrow a friend's mini laptop and had my trusted iPhone so was able to work on project # 2: Finding Apps for Reluctant Readers.
Once again I worked with Julie and Krista and we began our search for Apps. I have to say that I love my new iPhone and the capabilities that it has. Researcing Apps and seeing all that's available to us as educators and parents was a truly amazing experience for me. As I read through descriptions of the various Apps and downloaded many of them, I thought of students who could benefit so very much from this use of technology. I really look forward to the time when more of our schools and school districts can also see the value and are able to provide funding for our students to avail of this support.
My stressful morning turned into a much happier ending, as I sit here typing this blog from a shiny new computer!!
I used my iPhone again today as an alarm, send and receive messages to communicate with family and friends and many of the other uses described in previuos blogs. I also used it to do research on Laptops at Future Shop and Staples. I used it all morning to find and download Apps that would benefit reluctant readers.
